Battle royale style games have really picked up in popularity these days and Epic’s Fortnite Battle Royale is a prime example of that. The game has reportedly managed to rake in 125 million players to date, which in part could be thanks to it launching on mobile which helped make the game even more popular and accessible than it already was.
Now according to new data from Sensor Tower, it has been revealed that Fortnite for iOS has managed to make a whopping $100 million since its launch earlier this year. Note that Fortnite is a free-to-play game which means that the money Epic has made has been pretty much through in-app transactions. Also this is for the mobile version of the game, meaning that the total amount of money Epic has made could be higher when you factor in the other platforms.
Fortnite has also recently made its way onto the Nintendo Switch where it was downloaded 2 million times in the first day alone. The game has also yet to launch on Android which is scheduled for this summer, which means that we can expect to see even greater numbers once the game has been launched.
Pending the Android launch, this means that Fortnite is essentially playable on every platform such as the PC, the Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and iOS.
