One of those ways is by allowing users to add music to their videos. Now music in videos has been a bit contentious as sometimes some record labels and artists would request that the video be taken down due to copyright. However according to Facebook, “Together with the music industry, we are working to enable people around the world to include music in their videos on Facebook, opening up more options for creativity and sharing memories with friends and family.”
Facebook will also be introducing a new Lip Sync Live feature, where users can launch Facebook Live videos and attempt to lip sync to them as it happens. “With Lip Sync Live, you can express yourself with music from a variety of genres in real time. So whether you prefer songs like ‘Happier’ by Ed Sheeran or ‘God’s Plan’ by Drake, Lip Sync Live lets you bring friends and family into spontaneous musical moments.”
Facebook notes that these isn’t everything that they have planned and that they are exploring more ways to bring music onto Facebook, such as options to add music in Facebook Stories. No word on when that feature will go live, but in the meantime these two are features that could be worth checking out.
