Benchmarks Hint At New MacBook Pro With Intel Core i7-8750H Processor

It has been about a year since Apple refreshed the MacBook Pro, which means that it is about time that Apple refreshes the lineup. In fact last month it was reported that shipping times for some MacBook Pros were slipping, suggesting that Apple is slowing down production of existing models to make way for the newer ones.

Now it looks like there could be more signs that a new MacBook Pro is in the works, according to a recently spotted benchmark which reveals a MacBook Pro sporting Intel’s new six-core Core i7-8750H processor, which is part of Intel’s Coffee Lake family of processors. The benchmarks reveal that the chip has a base clock speed of 2.21GHz, but it can be boosted to speeds of up to 4.1GHz.

It has also managed to rack up to a multi-core score of 22,316, which as AppleInsider points out, makes it faster than any other MacBook in the market today where the best currently has a score of around 16,999. Now Apple typically tries to keep WWDC limited to software-related announcements as much as possible, but from time to time they do announce new hardware or refreshes to existing hardware.

Plus it would make a perfect platform to do the announcement considering how many people will be tuned in. In any case WWDC 2018 is kicking off tomorrow so hopefully we’ll have more details to share then.
