ASUS Zenbook S Laptop Announced With Unique Hinge Design

ASUS ZenBook S - Angled for Creative Power | ASUS

Laptops come in all shapes and sizes and sometimes the design of the laptop is more than just its aesthetics. ASUS might just be trying to prove their point with the launch of the ASUS Zenbook S that was recently announced at Computex 2018. What makes this laptop unique is in its hinge design.

According to ASUS, they’re calling this new design the “ErgoLift”. Apparently what it does is that it lifts the laptop higher than normal which results in a keyboard that is angled at 5.5 degrees. ASUS claims that this will provide a more comfortable typing experience when used during longer periods of time. It also has the added benefit of creating some space between the base of the laptop and the surface which should help with cooling as well.

In terms of specs, ASUS will be using Intel’s U-series of Core i5 and i7 processors where the laptop will also feature a 13.3-inch display that users can configure to either a 4K or 1080p Full HD resolution. ASUS has also done away with all traditional ports and has instead given users three USB-C ports, two of which are with Thunderbolt 3, and a headphone jack.

As for pricing and availability, the ASUS Zenbook S is priced starting at $1,199 and will be available starting on the 11th of June.
