Westworld’s first season proved to be a very big hit for HBO so it wasn’t surprising when the cable giant announced that it would make a second season. Westworld season 2 premiered merely two weeks ago and HBO appears to be happy with the response so far. That’s why it has now confirmed that there’s also going to be a third season of this hit show.
The show revolves around a theme park from the future which is populated by high-tech robots that are called hosts. Guests of the park can do as they please with the hosts and get their money’s worth.
Things started to take a turn in the first season when the hosts gradually became self-aware which caused many problems with the park’s operations and ultimately led to a pretty big moment towards the end of the season. Don’t worry, I won’t spoil it for you if you haven’t already watched the first season.
The second season picks up where we left off and the hosts are now self-aware. It retains the non-linear storytelling style that has been much appreciated by fans. Westworld has been created by showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy while the idea itself is inspired by the 1973 Westworld film by Michael Crichton.
It’s too soon to predict what the third season will be about, obviously, it all depends on where season two takes us and we still have a long way to go before that question can be answered.
