Valve Apologizes To DotA 2 Fans For ‘Poor Production’ Baby Roshan Statue

For 2017’s The International DotA 2 tournament, Valve launched a Battle Pass system which is similar in concept to previous compendiums, where players can achieve levels to unlock certain perks in the game. These not only take time, but they also cost money, which is why the higher-end rewards then to be pretty exclusive.

Such was the case for last year’s The International where those who hit Level 2000 in the Battle Pass would be getting a physical Baby Roshan statue, which is supposed to look like the render above. Unfortunately, it seems that the actual product was far from what was advertised, as you can see from photos uploaded onto Reddit by user KitsuneKamiSama, so much so that Valve had to apologize and announce that they would be resending the statues again.

According to Valve, “It has come to our attention that the physical Baby Roshan reward for last year’s Battle Pass has had poor production quality yields. We apologize to our fans for that, it is well below the quality we expected. We are going to start from scratch on new production for the statue, and prioritize delivering it as soon as possible to every customer that reached level 2000 last year.”

No word on when the new statues will be sent out, but we suppose at least Valve acknowledged it and is fixing it.
