Instagram has seen a lot of success with its iteration of the Stories feature and it appears that the company wants to make it more fun for the millions of users who use this feature. Some code has been discovered inside its Android app which suggests that Instagram might soon allow users to add music to their Stories. The feature may be called “Music stickers.”
The code has been discovered inside the Android app and it suggests that the Music stories feature will enable users to not only search for but add a song to their posts.
This is within the realm of possibility given that Instagram’s parent company Facebook recently signed deals with major record labels which provide its users with access to their music royalty-free.
Instagram Stories will likely become much more popular if it becomes popular for users to add music. It would give the feature a leg up on Snapchat Stories which is where Instagram got this feature from in the first place. It may also give a tough time of popular lip-syncing app Musically that’s all the rage these days. The music stickers on Instagram will get users singing along to their favorite songs much like the way Musically users do.
The company hasn’t confirmed or denied as yet if this feature is being developed.
