Pokemon Go quickly became popular when it came out and while the hype has died down considerably since then, there are still many people who still play this game. Developer Niantic leveraged the title’s popularity last year by launching the Pokemon Go Fest which had quite a lot of shortcomings but fans remain of the view that they would like this fan event to return. They will now be happy to know that Niantic has confirmed that the Pokemon Go Fest will be headed back to Chicago this summer.
The Pokémon Go Fest 2018 is detailed as “A Walk in the Park in Chicago” and that’s precisely what players will be doing during this full weekend celebration this July.
Visitors to the Lincoln Park in Chicago on July 14th and 15th will be able to follow a trail of almost 2 miles to discover rare Pokemon. They will be aided by physical guideposts and they will also be able to take part in exclusive activities that Niantic isn’t revealing anything about at this point in time.
The first event in Chicago suffered from issues which even led to a class-action lawsuit but Niantic was able to host a number of big events in Japan, Korea, and cities across Europe after that. It’s hoping that fans will see that things will be better in Chicago this time around. Those who are interested in attending the Pokemon Go Fest 2018 will have to purchase a ticket for $20. Tickets will go on sale come May 11th at 9 am PT. Those who don’t want to pay will also be able to catch some rare Pokemon throughout the city during the Pokemon Go Fest weekend.
