New Report ‘Confirms’ Pegatron Will Manufacture Apple’s ARM MacBook

According to a recent report from 9to5Mac, it was revealed that Apple was working on a new project codenamed “Star”. From what we can tell, it sounds like a new MacBook that combines features of iOS and macOS and is also expected to run on an ARM processor, something that we’ve actually been hearing about for a while now.

In the previous report, it was reported that Pegatron would be the one manufacturing the computer and it seems that this particular rumor is gaining traction. A new report from DigiTimes (via 9to5Mac) is now also claiming the same thing, where Pegatron has been tasked by Apple to make its ARM MacBook.

It is unclear if Pegatron’s orders are to mass produce the computer, or if they have simply been tasked to manufacture prototypes as per the previous report. However given that Apple and Pegatron have worked side by side in the past for various Apple products, it’s not surprising that Apple has turned to them once again.

That being said, we’re not sure how far along Apple’s ARM MacBook is in terms of development. We have heard that Apple could start phasing out its Intel based MacBooks in 2020, so if are still thinking about buying a new MacBook, it seems that you’ll still have time to enjoy it fully.
