HMD Global, the company that’s making Nokia-branded smartphones now, has talked about releasing a Pro Camera update for the Nokia 8 over the past few months. The update would address some of the concerns that users have had about the camera software on the company’s flagship smartphone. It appears that HMD Global might soon put its words into action by actually rolling out the much-awaited Nokia 8 Pro Camera update in the near future.
Many of the new camera features are already included in the Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco which has understandably made Nokia 8 owners feel left out. HMD Global had promised to release the Pro Camera update for the Nokia 8 and had even said that it may bring the update to other devices in the lineup too.
Juho Sarvikas recently revealed why it has taken the company so long to release the update. He pointed out that HMD Global has had to overhaul the entire imaging framework which is something that required months of work and took longer than anticipated.
“We will update shortly,” he said, which means that it’s only a matter of time now before the Nokia 8 Pro Camera update is finally released. Nokia 8 owners will certainly be looking forward to this update as it will enable them to get the most out of the dual camera system on their handsets.
