Now it looks like that feature is live where users can now share posts of other Instagram users on their Stories. This isn’t the same as regramming and it should be noted that a few months ago, Instagram was testing out the feature already. It is unclear if this is as far as Instagram will go to allow users to reshare posts, or if this will be a separate feature from regramming.
According to Instagram, “To share a feed post to your story, just tap the paper airplane button below the post, just as you would to send it via Direct. At the top, you’ll now see the option to create a story. Tap it to see the feed post as a sticker with a customized background ready to share to your story. You can rotate, scale and move the sticker — and tap it to explore other styles.”
As Instagram notes, this only works on posts made by profiles that are public, which means that you can share a post made by a profile that is private. Instagram is also giving users the option of opting out from having their posts shared in the settings menu.
