HP’s Latest Gaming Headset Will Keep Your Ears Cool

When you read or watch headphone reviews, what most reviewers will point out is the comfort of the headphones and whether or not they can be worn for extended periods of time. Some headphones tend to have a tighter grip which makes them uncomfortable, while some are designed for travel and have softer cushions which makes it more comfortable to wear.

However ultimately wearing headphones for too long can eventually get uncomfortable due to the heat, but HP might have a solution to that problem. The company has recently announced a new gaming headset called the Mindframe. For the most part its features are similar to other gaming headsets, but what makes it special is that it uses a patented thermoelectric cooling technique that helps keep your ears cool.

What this does is that it conducts heat from the acoustic chamber and directs it outside, which in a way is similar to heatsinks in computers which tries to redirect the heat away from the main components. Engadget managed to test the headphones out and claims that from their hands-on experience, it seems to work as promised.

Other features include a self-adjusting headband, a noise-cancelling microphone, 3D spatial awareness, and 7.1 virtual surround sound. No word on pricing but the HP Mindframe is expected to be released in the second half of 2018.
