It appears that Samsung has another variant of the Galaxy S8 in the pipeline which has been surfacing online over the past couple of weeks. It’s referred to as the Galaxy S8 Lite which suggests that while it may have the same design as the 2017 flagship, it may not have the same internals. Some new press renders of the alleged Galaxy S8 Lite have now appeared online which not only give us a glimpse of the design but also hint at the color options that will be available for this handset.

The renders show that the Galaxy S8 Lite will be almost identical to the Galaxy S8 in terms of design. It has the gorgeous dual-edge curved Infinity Display in the same metal and glass sandwich that is much loved by Samsung’s fans.

Given that this is going to be a “Lite” variant of the flagship, we can see that it doesn’t have a heart rate sensor at the back. The dedicated Bixby button can be seen in the renders so it appears that Samsung’s virtual assistant will be onboard.

Reports suggest that the Galaxy S8 Lite will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It may feature a slightly lower resolution 2220x1080p display with the same 3,000mAh battery.

Samsung is yet to officially say anything about this device but word on the street is that the Galaxy S8 Lite will be launched in China on May 21st for around $450.
