According to a report from Korea (via SamMobile), a possible codename for the Galaxy S10 might have been revealed to be “Beyond”. Samsung seems to have a penchant for lofty codenames for its flagship phones, as pointed out by SamMobile where the Galaxy S8 was codenamed Dream, and the Galaxy S9 was codenamed Star.
In addition to revealing a possible codename for the Galaxy S10 (or whatever Samsung plans on calling it), the report adds that Samsung is still on the fence with regards to adding a 3D camera to the phone to improve on its facial recognition capabilities. This is something that Android handset makers have been rumored to be doing ever since Apple introduced Face ID.
However some analysts believe that Android handset makers are at least 2 years behind Apple on the tech, which means that if it does launch, there is a potential that Face ID could still end up being more superior. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but like we said it’s probably too early to start speculating about the Galaxy S10, but we’ll keep our eyes and ears peeled for more potential information.
