Fitbit Ionic or Versa owners will soon get access to two new features that the company is rolling out for these smartwatches. Fitbit confirmed today that it has added female health tracking and quick replies for Ionic and Versa owners. The female health tracking feature will initially be available on the iOS and Windows apps with Android getting it later. Quick replies will be available for smartwatch owners on Android.
The new in-app female health tracking experience and on-device experience for Ionic and Versa users are designed to help users learn more about their menstrual cycle so that they can get a better understanding of how it affects other aspects of their health and fitness.
The feature allows for in-app period tracking. Users can rely on this feature to log their period, record symptoms, and also opt into receiving notifications two days before or on the day of their predicted period start date. The on-device experience can be used to track where users are in their cycle and see when their period is expected.
Fitbit users who have identified themselves as a female in their profiles will receive a notification later this month that this health tracking feature is now available.
