Samsung Shuts Down Reports Of Galaxy S9 Battery Issues

Like many of its previous flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S9 features chips from Qualcomm and Samsung in different markets. It’s normally the North American market that gets the Snapdragon variant whereas most markets receive the Exynos-powered flagship. Such is the case with the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ as well. Some recent reports have suggested that the Exynos-powered variant is lacking in the battery department compared to its Snapdragon counterpart. Samsung has shut down these reports in a new statement.

There have been multiple reports already citing users who feel that their Exynos-powered Galaxy S9 offers less battery live compared to the Snapdragon iteration. They obviously want Samsung to provide an explanation for this behavior.

The company says in a statement that “battery discharge time is dependent upon each user’s specific installed apps and settings, as well as other environmental factors,” which isn’t exactly false, as the battery life really does depend on how you use your smartphone.

That’s also a more polite way of saying that there are no battery issues with the Exynos-powered Galaxy S9 and that these reports have been blown out of proportion. Have you experienced any such issues on your Galaxy S9? Let us know in the comments below.
