To say that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been successful would be an understatement. The game’s popularity skyrocketed soon after it was launched and has sparked a lot of interest in the battle royale genre. Tens of millions of people continue to play the game and many more will now be able to get in on the action as PUBG is getting its first free Xbox One weekend. Microsoft has revealed the next Xbox Live Gold Free Play Days for Xbox One and has confirmed that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will be free to download and play later this month.
Bear in mind that Microsoft’s Free Play Days are limited to Xbox Live Gold members. Those who subscribe to the program will be able to download and play PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds for free starting Friday, April 19th at 12:01 am PT until Sunday, April 22nd at 11:59 pm PT.
Microsoft is offering the full Xbox Game Preview version of this title which includes all of the modes. All Battle Points that players earn during the free weekend will be carried forward if they decide to purchase the title after the free trial is up. Xbox Live Gold members will find the game in the Gold Member area on the aforementioned days or they can simply download PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds from the Xbox Store directly.
It’s not going to cost them a penny the entire weekend. A new cosmetic pack will also be available for purchase on April 19th. It’s called the PUBG5 pack and it includes cuffed jeans, long-sleeved shirt, a cap, and hi-top sneakers. The cosmetic pack will be available until May 19th and costs $7.
