If you thought that Apple’s iPhone 8 and 8 Plus would look better with a different color option, your wish might actually come true because in a report from MacRumors, it seems that a (PRODUCT)RED version of the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus could be announced as soon as today.

This is based on an internal memo distributed to Virgin Mobile employees that was obtained by the folks at MacRumors. The report claims that the launch of the new color option could be announced on the 9th of April, which is today. However it only seems to mention the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus and not the iPhone X, so if you were hoping for a red iPhone X you might be out of luck.

The memo also mentions that there will be pre-orders which suggests that the phones might not be made available immediately. This piece of information has since been corroborated by Mark Gurman who is also known for his accurate Apple predictions and insider information. No word on how much the phones will cost, but chances are it will probably cost slightly more.

Last year Apple launched the (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 7 where it ended up being priced $100 more than the regular model, so we expect that it should be roughly the same this year as well, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more information.
