However if you were wondering about phase 4, you might have to wait until next year to find out. This was revealed during an interview with Den of Geek (via GameSpot) in which Marvel’s Kevin Feige stated that plans for what movies will be part of MCU’s phase 4 will only be shared once the fourth Avengers movie has been released, which at the moment has been set for the 3rd of May, 2019.
This means that any hopes of hearing about new MCU movies at Comic-Con this year have been dashed. “We won’t do anything until after this time next year. After that, I think we’ll announce where we’re going. But we did a very big announcement in 2014 where we announced a lot of movies, and we added a few movies to it after that announcement. But it really felt important that we deliver on that before we do a big showcase of whatever is to come.”
There are still several movies left in phrase 3 such as Ant-Man and the Wasp, Captain Marvel, and the fourth Avengers movie. It is expected that Spider-Man: Homecoming’s sequel and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be part of phase 4 of the MCU, but it is unclear what else could be part of it.
It is largely expected that there will at least be sequel to Doctor Strange and Black Panther, but it is possible that maybe Marvel is waiting for Disney’s deal with Fox to finalize before announcing new movies. After all Disney did previously confirm that Fox’s Marvel movies will be folded into the MCU.
