As you can see from the photo above, this looks similar to the previous photos which bodes well as far as consistency is concerned. The rumored specs include a 1-inch CMOS sensor, a new DL-M lens mount, multiple flight modes and also increased flight times, support for two memory cards, a max speed of 55mph, a max range of 7km, and also a battery upgrade that promises up to 33 minutes.
DJI is also expected to launch new lenses for the drone which includes a 15mm, 24mm, 35mm, and also 50mm. While there are drones out there that already support photographers using their own equipment, the ability to swap out lenses on a built-in camera on a drone is a game changer. We’re not sure if this will necessarily be cheaper or be as good as a dedicated camera, but it should result in a smaller (and lighter) footprint.
No word on when the DJI Phantom 5 will be launched, but if and when it does, it has been rumored to cost $1,600, but no mention of how much the lenses are expected to cost.
