John Legend’s Latest Music Video Was Shot With The Google Pixel 2

Our smartphone cameras these days are amazing to the point where it might be indistinguishable from a regular point and shoot. In fact we’ve seen how some movie makers have actually decided to use phones exclusively to capture their movies, and John Legend’s latest music video is one of them.

The musician’s latest single and music video is dubbed “A Good Night” and the video above is the behind the scenes of how it all went down. Admittedly it feels quite a lot like an ad for the Pixel 2, but that being said, the Pixel 2’s camera quality is one that is highly spoken off and comparable, if not better, than other flagship phones out there.

This is despite the fact that the Pixel 2 only has a single lens setup, versus phones like the iPhone X or the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. In fact some tests and reviews have found that the portrait mode that the Pixel 2 manages to achieve purely based on software alone is better than the competition.

In any case the lesson at the end of the day is that sometimes it’s not really about the tools you have, but how to make use of them. If you have a couple of minutes to spare, you can check out the BTS in the video above, or check out the video below for the end result.
