According to the folks at 9to5Google, they have found that Google’s Chrome browser could be getting a Material Design 2 makeover. This was spotted in the latest version of Chrome Canary (the experimental version of Chrome) where the changes are pretty obvious, such as the browser tabs which will lose the sharp edges in favor of considerably rounded edges as you can see in the screenshot above.
There are also other changes, namely the shifting around of certain elements in the browser, but for the most part it isn’t a particularly drastic overhaul. However like we said, this only seems to be available in the latest version of Chrome Canary. If you’re using the regular version of Chrome then you won’t be able to see these changes.
However if you are using Chrome Canary, type “chrome://flags/#top-chrome-md” and enable the flag in order to check out the changes.
