The 2018 FIFA World Cup will kick off on June 14th in Russia and as the excitement grows, EA wants to make sure that FIFA 18 players can get in on the action as well. It has announced today that a new update will be released for the game next month which is going to bring the World Cup video game tie-in. It has broken from tradition this time around by offering it as a free update.
The FIFA 2018 World Cup update is going to be made available for free next month. This is different from what EA did for the last world cup back in 2014 when it released a separate title for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as well as an Ultimate Team expansion for the PS4 and Xbox One.
The update is going to bring all 32 teams that have qualified for the sport’s most prestigious competition complete with all of their players, national kits, and badges. The 12 official stadiums from Russia will also be added to the game as part of this update aside from the new match ball, the World Cup trophy, and a collection of cinematic scenes aided by fresh graphics and commentary.
EA is going to release the free FIFA World Cup update for FIFA 18 on May 29th. It’s going to be available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
