In light of this incident, it seems that Facebook will now allow users to unsend messages. However if you don’t see the feature yet, it’s because Facebook claims that it is still in the works and that it is expected to find its way to users in the next few months. The company claims that they have actually been considering how to build this product. The company also promises that until the feature has been made available to all users, they will not be retracting anymore of Zuckerberg’s messages.
As TechCrunch points out, by announcing their plans to roll out the feature to its users, Facebook could make the argument that Zuckerberg was simply testing the feature out. Whether or not that sounds like a thinly-veiled explanation is up to you, but we guess it is a useful feature nonetheless.
So far other Facebook owned products such as WhatsApp have already introduced the ability to unsend/retract messages, so we guess it was only a matter of time before it made its way to other Facebook products and services as well.
