In an announcement on Twitch’s blog, it seems that the streaming platform wants in on the celebration as well. “We want to join Blizzard in celebrating the OG that got us all here: StarCraft. So ramp up that resource production, construct additional pylons, and get ready for a rush of events celebrating StarCraft’s 20th Anniversary all month long!”
Just like Blizzard, Twitch will be launching limited time events and features, such as global emotes that are themed around StarCraft. Those who tune into StarCraft streams will also be rewarded if they watch a cumulative two hours worth of streaming, where upon completion they will be given a Bob Toss item bundle (play on Bob Ross) with a Portrait, Spray, and Emoji.
There will also be monetary rewards of up to $25,000 where the top 8 broadcasters will compete in a StarCraft Achievement Hunt Marathon, where the broadcaster that unlocks the most campaign achievements across StarCraft 2 will be the victor. There will also be tournaments of both StarCraft 2 and StarCraft Remastered, so those are things worth checking out if you’re a fan.
