The company has recently released a survey asking customers why they did not upgrade to the iPhone X. The survey reads, “You currently own an iPhone yet you didn’t upgrade to (what Apple believes is) the best Apple phone yet, the iPhone X. Why?” Based on their findings, it appears that the majority of responses seem to have to do with the cost of the iPhone X.
31% of the survey’s participants said outright that the phone is too expensive, which is true when you consider that it starts at $999 for the 64GB version. 44% said that their iPhone works just fine, which in a way is also related to price because it is possible that with a lower price tag, existing users would have readily upgraded even if their iPhones were working just fine. Alternatively it could also be that the iPhone X doesn’t have enough features to make the upgrade compelling.
The survey also found that 8% of participants felt that the iPhone X’s 5.8-inch display wasn’t big enough, although if the rumors are true they could be getting their wish this year as there are rumors of a 6.5-inch iPhone X in the works.
