Sprint Releases Oreo For LG V30

The LG V30 received its Android 8.0 Oreo update on Verizon over a week ago and now Sprint has started rolling out said update on its network. Verizon released Android 8.0 Oreo for the LG V30 on March 11th and Sprint is doing that today. The carrier is rolling out the update over-the-air so users should expect to get an update notification on their handsets in the near future.

Sprint has released software version LS99820a for the LG V30 on its network which upgrades the core Android version to 8.0 Oreo and brings all of the features that are part and parcel of this release. The update also brings subtle user interface improvements while enhancing stability and performance.

It’s not surprising to see that the update weighs in at 1.7GB since it brings the latest iteration of Google’s mobile platform. While the Oreo update that Verizon released for this device had the February security patch, the version that Sprint’s rolling out appears to have the latest security patch for the month of 2018.

LG V30 owners on Sprint should keep an eye out for that over-the-air update notification today as the rollout has now begun. It should only be a matter of time before the update lands on all units.
