Unfortunately this means that users who demand much more from their computers will have to fork out for the more expensive Macs, like the Mac Pro or the iMac Pro. However the good news is that you might no longer have to pay so much for a high-end Mac because in the latest macOS High Sierra update, it looks like Apple will be introducing support for external GPUs.
What this means is that if you have an old-ish Mac computer that you still plan on using, you will be able to attach an external GPU to it that might be more powerful which in turn sort of extends the life of your computer. Granted it will reduce its portability and mobility if you’re using a laptop, but if you work from home then it shouldn’t pose much of a problem.
This also means that developers who are looking to develop VR applications on their Mac computers now have an option to beef up their current setup. This makes sense financially as a new GPU would cost less compared to buying a brand new Apple computer.
