HP has launched a new lineup of displays, laptops, and all-in-one desktops that are germicide-resistant. They can hold their own against intense cleaning materials and are meant for use in hospitals and medical facilities. Called the HP Healthcare Edition, this new lineup has been designed to “address the next generation of patient care,” according to the company. These machines have been built to withstand the unique needs of healthcare providers and aside from their resistance to intense cleaning products, they also come with enhanced features that will help healthcare professionals in their work.
HP has launched three new devices as part of this lineup – the HP EliteBook 840 GS Healthcare Edition, the HP EliteOne 800 G4 23.8 Healthcare Edition All-in-One, and the HP Healthcare Edition HC270cr Clinical Review Display.
The notebook comes with HP Easy Clean software that lets users disable the keyboard and touchscreen while they’re wiping it down with germicidal wipes. The entire lineup is protected against deterioration from being cleaned with such intense cleaning products. The aim here is to prevent the spread of healthcare-related infections.
It’s also the first notebook for healthcare that features integrated RFID and biometrics for single sign-on authentication. The notebook’s touchpad is also capable of recognizing touch input even when surgical gloves are on.
HP says that the new notebook will be available in may while the all-in-one and the clinical review display will be available in June this year.
