The countries affected include India, China, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, South Korea, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. This means that if you’re trying to find Far Cry 5 on Steam and you live in either of those places, you’re out of luck. Instead you will have to purchase the game via Ubisoft’s Uplay store.
Like we said it is unclear why the game has been pulled when it was available for pre-order previously. However as noted by NDTV, this is not the first time that games have been pulled, such as Dragon Ball FighterZ which was pulled from India as Bandai Namco did not have the licensing rights to the game in the country. Presumably this might be the same deal for Far Cry 5, but we can’t be sure as Ubisoft has yet to comment.
In any case there is no telling if the game will eventually be re-added to Steam, so if you don’t want to wait and see, Uplay is your next best bet.
