For the longest time, there wasn’t clarity on whether Daniel Craig would return for another Bond movie. The actor had made some comments after the release of the last movie which suggested that he was done with the franchise. However, it has since been confirmed that he’s going to return for one more movie called Bond 25 and now reports that Danny Boyle could be attached to the project have been confirmed.
Some recent reports suggested that Donny Boyle, who has hit directing credits on Slumdog Millionaire and Trainspotting, will direct the new Bond movie. That confirmation hasn’t come as yet but Boyle has said that he’s involved with the project.
Boyle confirmed in an interview with Metro US that he’s working on the script for Bond 25 with John Hodge, his regular scriptwriter, adding that it all depends on the script. He didn’t give away any of the plot details, why would he, and also didn’t say anything about sitting in the director’s chair for the new Bond movie.
Once Hodge delivers the script, the studio will then decide which one to pick, as another script is being penned by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade who have written the scripts for Bond movies in the past as well. Boyle will likely direct if Hodge’s script is chosen and if that doesn’t happen then the studio will bring in a new director to bring Purvis and Wade’s screenplay to life.
