In a report from Bloomberg, BMW looks like that they will be launching a car subscription service in which the pilot program will be taking place in Tennessee, Nashville next week. Dubbed “Access by BMW”, the program is expected to be kicking off on the 2nd of April where apparently the program is aimed at the younger crowd whose ideas of transportation have changed, largely due to companies like Uber, Airbnb, and so on.
BMW is not the first company to consider a car subscription service as previously Porsche also announced a similar service. We’re not sure what BMW’s car subscription service will entail as details are scarce at the moment, but if it is anything like what Porsche is offering, it means that customers will be able to change cars whenever they want (with certain limitations, of course), all for a monthly fee.
BMW has yet to officially confirm the new program, but earlier this year the company did hint that this is something they were contemplating but declined to go into detail.
