A recent rumor has suggested that Diablo 3 for the Nintendo Switch could be in the works, but of course it would be hard to prove anything without any concrete information. However over the weekend, Blizzard got fans excited when they tweeted out a video which showed a Diablo night light being switched off.
This led to speculation that it was Blizzard’s way of teasing that the game could be arriving for the Switch, thus proving the previous rumor right. Unfortunately it seems that Blizzard might have only been trolling fans because in a statement that the company subsequently issued, it seemed like Diablo for the Switch is still just a pipedream.

In a statement issued to to Eurogamer, Blizzard wrote, “We cannot confirm this rumour. As of now, we do not have any current plans to announce Diablo for Switch. This tweet was meant to be a fun engagement piece. We do not have any plans to announce Diablo for Switch.” This is actually not the first time that Blizzard has trolled Switch fans like that.
Previously ahead of the Switch’s launch, Blizzard seemed to hint that Hearthstone would be coming to the Switch but later denied that it was. However given the excitement surrounding Blizzard’s teases, it seems that many gamers are indeed hoping to see a Blizzard game arriving for the console, so hopefully Blizzard takes that as a sign.
