In a report from The New York Times, they spoke to producers and entertainment executives who have had dealings with Apple and are claiming that the Cupertino company is aiming for a launch in the summer of 2019, or possibly March 2019 at the earliest. Like we said, this means that we have about a year or so of waiting.
The report goes on to claim that in terms of what will be offered, Apple is expected to lean towards programming that is in line with the company’s “bright, optimistic” branding, suggesting that darker content or content that are heavy on social issues might be avoided to keep things lighthearted. Of course none of this is set in stone as we expect that Apple will probably study the reaction of the market and make changes accordingly, but for now this is a hint at what we can expect.
Assuming that Apple only plans on launching their content in 2019, this means that any announcements regarding the service will probably come at a later date, which means we probably shouldn’t expect to hear anything so soon.
