The iPhone X finally brought wireless charging to iPhones and the company also announced during the launch event that it’s going to launch a wireless charging accessory for the device called AirPower. It has been a while since this product was announced and as fans await its release, multiple reports have suggested that the Apple AirPower wireless charging accessory might finally be released this month.
A new report out of Taiwan claims that Apple is going to launch its AirPower accessory before the end of this month but doesn’t provide a precise release date. It backs up other recent reports about the AirPower accessory being released in March. One involved an unnamed Best Buy tipster who claimed that both the AirPower charging mat and the wireless charging case for AirPods will be released this month.
The AirPower wireless charging mat has been designed to charge multiple devices at the same time. Apple said during the announcement in September last year that it will enable users to wirelessly charge an iPhone, an Apple Watch, and the AirPods charging case simultaneously.
Apple hasn’t really provided an update on the matter. All that it has said about the subject is that this accessory will be available at some point in 2018. The company hasn’t even confirmed how much it’s going to cost and precisely when customers will be able to pick one up.
