However the good news is that we are narrowing down those dates because in an update on the Stardew Valley blog, Eric Barone a.k.a. ConcernedApe has confirmed that the multiplayer beta is scheduled to be released in the spring of 2018. According to Barone, he claims that work on the new features is done and that the text has been sent off to be translated.
He also claims that once they have received the translated text and integrated it into the game and it has gone through QA, the public beta should begin, which he claims that they are shooting for spring 2018. However as is the case with game development, delays are normal and to be expected since sometimes developers feel like it isn’t quite polished yet, but hopefully there won’t be delays in this case.
As previously confirmed, the multiplayer feature of Stardew Valley will include both local and online play, meaning that you can play online with friends or even locally.
