This is according to a recent announcement by Spotify in which the company has announced a team up with Discord. This will come in the form of shared listening where gamers will be able to share with each other songs and listen to them together, so if you’ve got a soundtrack that you want everyone to listen to while taking down the raid boss, this is one way you can go about it.
However it should be noted that this feature seems to be limited to Spotify Premium users which will require a subscription to the app. That being said, Spotify’s new partnership with Discord further extends the service into the gaming world. Previously Spotify found its way onto the Xbox One and also replaced Sony’s Music Unlimited service on the PlayStation.
According to Mikael Ericsson, Product Director, Platform & Partner Experience at Spotify, “This is the next natural step to highlight the importance of music as an integral part of the gaming experience. Starting today, we’re really excited to offer Spotify Premium and Discord users the ability to listen together as a group or highlight what they’re jamming out to while enjoying their favorite games.”
