Samsung’s ‘Uhssup’ Social Network May Launch Alongside Galaxy S9

It was first reported last month that Samsung had filed a trademark for a location-based social network called “Uhssup.” Not a lot of information has surfaced about this since then and if a new report is to be believed, Samsung might launch this social network alongside the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+ later this week.

A new report out of South Korea claims that Uhssup is location-based social network developed by Samsung which will allow users to share their location in real-time as well as comment on the locations of other users.

It’s basically similar to how users tag where they are on Facebook. It’s also expected to provide messaging capabilities similar to what users get in WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. The question is, though, would it be enticing enough for users to start using another social network on top of they multiple that most of them already use?

The report doesn’t offer a lot of detail about the features of this service so we’ll have to wait until February 25 to find out whether or not Uhssup really is a new service that Samsung is launching alongside the Galaxy S9.

Samsung hasn’t said anything about launching a new location-based social media network and we can’t expect it to now given that the Galaxy S9 launch event is just around the corner.
