Turns out the rumors were right because one of the features of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ is a feature called AR Emoji, and it seems that Samsung might have scored big on this as they have managed to partner up with Disney for it. For those who missed Samsung’s announcement at MWC 2018, during the launch of the Galaxy S9 and S9+, Samsung showed off an animated Mickey Mouse that the user can use as part of the feature.
Like we said Samsung has scored big on this because not only is Disney a huge name, but it is a swipe at Apple who has maintained close ties with the company. Disney’s President Bob Iger is currently sitting on Apple’s board, plus Apple and Disney have worked together in the past by bringing Disney watch faces to the Apple Watch.
It remains to be seen if this will be an exclusive feature to Samsung users, or if Disney will also allow Apple to use their characters for Animoji in the future.
