Verizon customers can now sign up for a new prepaid plan that the carrier has added to its lineup. The plan brings a woeful 500MB of data for $30 per month. Even in comparison to some of the other plans that Verizon itself offers to customers, the new plan leaves a lot to be desired. This new plan is obviously meant for those who use a very small amount of mobile data as 500MB won’t go too far on services like YouTube.
Verizon already offers several other prepaid plans that are good value for money. There’s the $40 plan with 3GB of data, $50 with 7GB data, and $60 for 10GB data. Customers who want more can opt for Verizon’s $75 unlimited data plan.
The carrier itself says that this new $30 plan offers enough data for light users to meet their requirements. 500MB is obviously not going to go a long way on services like YouTube and other music streaming services like Pandora and Spotify.
All Verizon prepaid plans, even the newly announced $30 plan, offer unlimited talk and text in the United States as well as the ability to carry leftover data from one month. Customers also get mobile hotspot support and unlimited texting to more than 200 countries.
Verizon customers will be able to sign up for the carrier’s new $30 plan starting February 20th.
