If you’ve only started following Chris Rock’s work recently then you might not be sure of the depth of the amazing work he has done as a standup comedian. Naturally, his fans were very excited when they found out that he was going to release a new stand-up special after ten years. Chris Rock: Tamborine is the first comedy special from the comedian since 2008 and it’s now available on Netflix.
It was first confirmed back in 2016 that Chris Rock had inked a deal with Netflix reportedly worth $40 million for two comedy specials. It has since been a long wait for the first of those two specials to arrive on Netflix.
Netflix subscribers can head over to the streaming service right now and watch Chris Rock: Tamborine. As previously mentioned, this is Rock’s first comedy special since Kill the Messenger which aired back in 2008. Interesting tidbit: Netflix introduced its online video streaming service in 2007. A lot has changed since then and Netflix has now become an online video streaming behemoth.
According to reports, the special covers a wide range of topics from race to relationships. Directed by Bo Burnham, the new Chris Rock Netflix special was filmed at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
