Last year it was announced that Netflix would be adapting “The Witcher” into a TV series. There was no mention of when it would be launched, but it looks like we’re one step closer to it being a reality, thanks to a recent tweet by Lauren Hissrich (via GameSpot) who is the writer for the upcoming show.
According to Hissrich, it seems that the draft of the script for the pilot episode for the show has been completed. Note that since this is a draft it means that it will probably need to be proof-read and cleaned up before it can be used, but like we said it does bring us one step to the series being made a reality.

We should point out that the series will be based on “The Witcher” series of books written by Andrzej Sapkowski, as opposed to the video game by CD Projekt Red. Granted the game is based on the books, but its author actually stated in the past that he believes the game had negatively impacted the books as it led to many assuming the books came after the game, which tends to have negative connotations.
That being said, both the books and game have been concluded which means that the upcoming series on Netflix will be the latest development in The Witcher franchise, although last we heard CD Projekt Red was not completely closed off to the idea at a new The Witcher game.
