If you’re a fan of the Tomb Raider franchise, you might be interested to learn that Mattel has unveiled their latest Barbie doll, which in this case is none other than Lara Croft herself. However this Lara Croft Barbie will not be based on the older Tomb Raider franchise, but the more recent ones.
The doll will come with several accessories, such as a map, an axe, a journal, a doll stand, and a Certificate of Authenticity. Given how that the Tomb Raider movie reboot is expected to be released on the 16th of March, we suppose this is pretty good timing. The design of the doll is also a pretty good replica of what Lara Croft looks like in the game.
The Tomb Raider franchise, both the video game and movies, have been rebooted in which it now offers up a grittier take on the game. Some have likened the tone of the newer games to other games such as The Last of Us and Uncharted. The games have also made Lara Croft seem more “vulnerable”.
The franchise was initially rebooted back in 2013 with “Tomb Raider”, and was later followed by an expansion, Rise of the Tomb Raider in 2015. The movie was also reboot in 2015 where it was announced that Alicia Vikander would be playing the role of Tomb Raider. The movie is also expected to start Dominic West, Walton Goggins, and Daniel Wu.
