Redesigned ‘Do Not Disturb’ Feature Planned For iOS 12

One of the features introduced to iOS in recent years is “Do not disturb”. As the name implies, this is a feature that will turned off certain features on your handset, such as lockscreen notifications. The idea is that if you want to sleep or are in a meeting, you can set your phone to “Do not disturb” and you won’t be alerted to notifications or calls.

However it looks like Apple could be thinking of improving on the feature, according to a recent report from Bloomberg. The report claims that Apple is working on a redesigned “Do not disturb” feature that will offer users more flexibility and options when it comes to keeping their phones from distracting them.

This includes the ability to automatically reject phone calls or silence notifications, which basically sounds like an expansion of what’s already available. For those who rely heavily on “Do not disturb” and have set it on a schedule, then these changes probably come as good news.

This is rumored to be part of the iOS 12 update which will most likely be announced at WWDC 2018. The update is said to focus on improvements and stability of the iOS platform, and less about flashy new features, but we should find out more in the coming months.
