HTC ‘Breeze’ Rumored To Be Full-Screen, Entry-Level Handset

So far when it comes to smartphone designs, we’ve seen how companies have typically reserved the “better” designs for their flagship phones, such as opting to use more premium materials and also utilizing better technology, like bigger, bezel-less displays and higher resolutions.

However it looks like HTC could be taking some of that and bringing it to its entry-level handsets. In a tweet by leakster Evan Blass, he has revealed that HTC is working on a handset codenamed “Breeze” that will be an entry-level handset, but it will feature some flagship features, such as an 18:9 full-screen display.

However it seems that apart from the full-screen display, that’s pretty much where the flagship-like features end. In terms of specs, he claims that there will be a MediaTek chipset, 2GB of RAM with 16GB of storage, a 13MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, and a 2,730mAh battery, and hopefully Android 8.0 Oreo preinstalled.

No word on pricing or availability, but as Blass puts it, given its specs its price should also reflect that, so don’t expect it to break the bank. As to when the phone might be announced, there is still no word on when that will be, but MWC 2018 is taking place later this month so that’s always a possibility, despite the fact that HTC might not launch their flagship at the event.
