If you’re wondering what this means for the app, basically users will now be able to use 3D Touch to “peek” at website previews by press down on links, and “pop” into the content of the website by pressing down further. Like we said we don’t know what took Microsoft so long, but we guess better late than never, at least for those who are still using the feature.
3D Touch was launched on the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus almost 3 years ago, but it seems that the feature never quite caught on. In more recent iPhone launches Apple hasn’t really expounded much on the feature which has us wondering what the company has planned for its future and if it could be sticking around.
That being said, the update to Edge for iOS also brings about a bunch of other changes and improvements, such as faster start times, choosing content region for news feed, and more. If you’ve yet to update the app then head on over to the iTunes App Store for the download.
