[CES 2018] While no new BlackBerry-branded handsets have been unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show 2018 in Las Vegas, the company has confirmed that it’s going to launch at least two new BlackBerry handsets in 2018. It did confirm the launch of the BlackBerry KeyOne Bronze Edition and the U.S. availability of the BlackBerry Motion today.
Some of you will be aware that BlackBerry no longer makes its own smartphones. The company has licensed its brand to China-based TCL which now makes and sells these BlackBerry-branded Android-powered smartphones.
The company has confirmed that it’s going to launch at least two new BlackBerry smartphones this year. They won’t be new iterations of the KeyOne or Motion. These will be entirely new devices that will be unveiled at a later date.
No further information has been provided by the company about these new devices. It’s unclear what specifications and features they might have and we obviously don’t know yet what they’re going to look like.
Perhaps we might see the company unveil one or both devices at the Mobile World Congress 2018 in February. That’s a stage that many smartphone manufacturers use to unveil their new products. If you’re a BlackBerry fan, keep your fingers crossed for an MWC 2018 reveal next month.
