[CES 2018] If you’re after a mid-range smartphone, you might be interested to learn that Sony has officially announced the Sony Xperia XA2. While it isn’t the rumored Xperia XZ2 that we have been hearing about in the rumors, we suppose this is still a pretty solid handset based on its specs and would be ideal for those who are shopping on a budget.
In terms of specs, the Xperia XA2 will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset. It will also come with an Adreno 510 GPU, a 5.2-inch Full HD display, 3GB of RAM, up to 32GB of onboard storage that can be further expanded via microSD, LTE connectivity, Bluetooth, WiFi, and a 3,300mAh battery.
We are also looking at a 23MP rear-facing camera with a 1/2.3-inch sensor with hybrid AP, 0.6s quick launch, 5x Clear Image Zoom, and Sony’s SteadyShot feature that will help stabilize the camera in photos and videos. The front-facing camera is an 8MP Exmor R that also features Sony’s SteadyShot, and will feature a 120-degree wide-angle lens.
Other features of the Xperia XA2 include Clear Audio+, Clear Bass, and Clear Phase audio technology, and will come with Android 8.0 Oreo preinstalled. In terms of availability it is expected to be released later this month.
