Coming in the form of the HT-Z9F and HT-X9000F, right off the bat both of these soundbars will come with support for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X audio technology. One of the main differences between these soundbars is that the HT-Z9F is a 3.1 channel soundbar, while the HT-X9000F is a 2.1 channel soundbar.
According to Sony, “Equipped with Sony’s groundbreaking Vertical Surround Engine technology, the front speakers of each model can produce 3-dimensional acoustics all by themselves.” This is thanks to the HT-Z9F’s “Vertical S” button that will help produce that 3D effect sound.
That being said if these soundbars are something you are interested in, Sony will be selling the HT-Z9F for $900, while the HT-X9000F will be priced slightly cheaper at $600. Both of the soundbars are also expected to be released this coming spring, so do keep an eye out for them if you’re looking for speakers that are a little more compact.
