[CES 2018] It’s starting to seem that the days of our wireless mouse running out of battery mid-use are starting to come to an end. This is because we’re seeing more companies put out accessories that can charge our mice wirelessly while it is being used, and Razer is one of them as the company has announced its new HyperFlux technology.
Razer’s HyperFlux is basically a wireless charging technology that can wireless charge a mouse using a magnetic field. The company has unveiled two new products that will be the first to take advantage of the technology, which includes the Razer Mamba HyperFlux wireless mouse, and the Razer Firefly HyperFlux mouse mat.
The Mamba HyperFlux is a wireless mouse that features 16,000 DPI and uses the 2.4GHz frequency band, thus providing gamers with a strong signal. As for the Firefly HyperFlux, this is the mouse mat that you can use the Mamba HyperFlux on, which means that it powers the mouse as you use it (there is also a cable that you can attach to the mouse if you don’t want to use it with the charging mat). If this sounds familiar, it is because we’ve seen similar products from Logitech and more recently, Corsair.
Both the mouse and mouse mat will utilize Chroma Lighting, which means that with Razer’s recent announcement regarding synchronizing Chroma with the Philips Hue lights, it should result in a pretty spectacular light show. For those who are interested, Razer will be selling the Mamba and Firefly as a combo which is priced at $250 and will be available in Q1 2018 worldwide.
